A privileged panoramic view at the peak of the Via d’Acqua
The waterfall is fundamental for the Royal Palace of Caserta’s water management system. From its peak, the waters carried by the Caroline Aqueduct are distributed through the Palace, the Royal Park and the English Garden. The water travels 82 meters from Mount Briano’s summit and reaches the Fountain of Diana and Actaeon. Seven ramps on each side allow you to reach a lookout, bordering the San Silvestro Wood. Luigi Vanvitelli had planned the construction of a coffee house there but it was never built, it gave way to a suggestive rustic-style cave pavilion instead: the Torrione.
