Piramide

Un simbolo antico in un giardino moderno

Costeggiando il perimetro del Giardino Inglese, poco oltre l’Aperia, una piccola Piramide si nasconde sulla sinistra tra la vegetazione. Da qui, un canale oggi interrato porta l’acqua alla Fontana del Pastore e in seguito al Bagno di Venere. Un’apertura dà accesso a un piccolo ambiente oscuro che contribuisce all’atmosfera mistica del monumento. Completata nel 1828, la Piramide si lega alle tradizioni della Massoneria. Le sue forme evocano il rapporto che connette l’uomo al divino, secondo percorsi iniziatici in voga tra Settecento e Ottocento. Elementi simbolici e decorativi simili si ritrovano in altri parchi europei, quale il Parc Monceau a Parigi.
