A timeless symbol
At the southern edge of the English Garden, near the Tempietto and the ancient labyrinth, lies a monument unknown to most. Its shape, of Egyptian derivation, is made up of a tapered body, ending with a pointed tip called pyramidion. A widespread decorative element enhanced by works carried out in the nineteenth-century, it inspires a mystical interpretation of the spaces of the English Garden,. It emerges from luxuriant vegetation and it is thought to be contemporary to the Pyramid beyond the Aperia.
