Starting from 1 January 2024, the free entry to museums and places of culture reserved for Italian citizens residing abroad (AIRE T1) is no longer in effect.

Citizens of the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, Liechtenstein between the ages of 18 and 24 (up to the 25th birthday, included). It is necessary to show a valid identity document. Plus 1 euro fee for pre-sale online purchases.

It is necessary to show a valid identity card. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Free admission is granted to disabled people (in possession of a Disability Card – European Disability Card, and/or law 104) and to their companion.

Free admission is granted to groups of students from public and private schools in the European Union accompanied by their teachers, upon reservation and within the quota established by the head of the institute. To find out how to book a tour for your school group please click here

As established by the Decree 111/2016 of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Tourism, free access is guaranteed to italian teaching staff in possession of a certification of the role of permanent teacher or with a fixed-term contract, issued by the school. In order to facilitate our visiting teachers, you can download here the form to be presented at the ticket office here. This certificate must be renewed every year. In case of paid exhibitions or temporary exhibitions that do not follow the ordinary tour itinerary, teachers will be able to get shopping vouchers through the app (cartadeldocente.formazione.it), available since 30/11/2016 (see circular no.77 / 2016 DG-Museums)

The following can access the Royal Palace of Caserta for free: students taking part of the Schools of the Ministry’s advanced training courses (Central Institute for Restoration, Opificio delle Pietre Dure, School for Mosaic Restoration); teachers and students enrolled in academies of fine arts or corresponding institutions in the European Union by showing the enrolment certificate for the current academic year; lecturers and students of bachelor’s, master’s or post-graduate courses and research doctorates of the following courses: Architecture, Conservation of Cultural Heritage, Educational Sciences or Literature and Philosophy with an archaeological or historical-artistic curricula. The same concessions are allowed to teachers and students of corresponding courses within the European Union. Free admission is also granted to students by showing the enrollment certificate for the current academic year, and to teachers by showing a suitable document.

Research attested by educational or university institutions, academies, Italian or foreign research and cultural institutes, as well as by bodies of the Ministry. Moreover, for specific and certified needs, the Heads of Institutes can allow free admission to the exhibition venues of their competence and for specific periods to those who request it.

The ICOM membership last one year and therefore must be renewed every year
